Race series are heating up!

The Tri Minnesota Series and Glacial Lakes Running Series are in full swing, and runs and triathlons are happening weekly throughout the area. It's a great time to get out and set some PR's!

Tri Minnesota update

The Tri Minnesota Series has already completed it’s sixth event, with only four remaining. As of July 22nd, the overall female point leader for the series is Jody Mullet from Chaska and the male overall point leader is JP Fahey from Norwood. Things are lining up for tight end-of-season race. The Waseca Triathlon is the next event on the schedule and still has openings. Also make sure and check out the Young Life Triathlon in Detroit Lakes which is a bonus points race in the series.

As we announced earlier in the year, the 5+ Tri MN Series Award, sponsored by Gear West Bike, is back for 2013. Everyone that particpates in 5 or more races in the Series will receive a 5+ shirt from Gear West Bike. So if you are thinking about doing an extra race, you might as well sign up and get the shirt! Glacial Lakes Running Series

The Glacial Lakes Running Series has completed it’s seventh event. The Pillsbury Push in Kerkhoven is the next Glacial Lakes Series event, which will be held on July 27. The leaders of the series as of July 22nd are Tracy Sik from Willmar and Marty Janning from Willmar. Visit the series website for more information.

Green Lake Triathlon

August 11
Spicer, MN

10 years and growing every year! The Spicer Green Lake Triathlon has become one of the premier Triathlons in the state. They feature a first class kids' triathlon on Saturday August 10th, and the full Sprint and Olympic courses launch at 8 a.m. on Sunday August 11th. The event features a very spacious transition area, sandy swimming beach and wide comfortable roads for the cycles.

Join a relay team! GL Tri boasts one of the state's highest relay team percentages due to the clean footprint and course for newcomers!

Free Music, Food and gifts await your weekend in Spicer. Join the 700+ participants this August in Spicer MN. Visit the Willmar Lakes Area CVB for lodging information.

Husky Spirit Run

September 28
St. Cloud, MN

Register early for the Husky Spirit 5k and 1k Junior Run. The race will start and finish at the SCSU Atwood Mall. This year’s out and back course will wind down the Mississippi Beaver Island Trail. All pre-registered participants will receive a t-shirt, refreshments and a chance for door prizes. Awards to the overall male and female winners. Also, awards to the top three finishers in each age group.
